Once upon a time ... - A King! - My little readers will say immediately. No guys, you are mistaken! There was once a piece of wood. -
And the magic begins ...
There are no words to describe the emotion to keep in hands the book in which the most famous puppet in the world was born.
Page after page the story that everyone, adults and children have in heart, unravels to our eyes.
So begins the story in the story by Carlo Lorenzini, called Collodi, a story divided into chapters, created just for fun from the mind of a brilliant man, unpredictable, always looking for money to pay off gambling debts that seemed to have no end.
So happened that one day Collodi, after a bad night at the casino, gave the first four episodes of the history of puppet to Alexander Paggi, Florentine publisher who started him to writing, with a note that read:
"I send you this childish, make it what you want, but if you publish pay it a lot to me, to make me want to follow it …"
The Paggi published it on his Journal for Children, and was a success.
This bound book contains 15 chapters of the original story of Pinocchio, which ends October 27, 1881 with the death by hanging of the puppet by the hands of assassins.
Following the huge success decreed by the public and loudly demanded that go on the story of Pinocchio, Collodi resurrected the puppet by the Blue Fairy, he wrote other episodes that were later collected in the book "The Adventures of Pinocchio. History of a puppet ", which was translated into 240 languages, and it is now the worldwide success that we all know.
This book, unique in the world trade, is the chimera of the millions of collectors of the wooden puppet. Some editions, not tied in bundles, are preserved by the Library Collodian and perhaps by some lucky major collectors of Pinocchio.
Our volume seems to be the only one that contains the first year of the Journal for Children bound and complete.

Signs of the time. The first page shows some flaws but no loss of text. The story of the puppet starts from page 3 anyway..
